The Granville Township office will be closing today, 12/26/2025 at 12:30 pm due to the expected weather conditions. We will reopen at 8am on Monday, 12/29/2025.
Granville Township Tentative Budget 2026. Final budget will be adopted at the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting, December 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. The budget does not include a tax increase.

Update 11/25/2025 – The Burn Ban has been lifted
Granville Township is conducting a search to fill the position of Chief of Police. The Township is located in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. The Township has a population of 4,638 residents and includes a total area of 40.9 square miles. The Granville Township Police Department currently employs 8 full-time officers and 1 part-time administrative positions.
The Chief of Police is responsible for supervising all police personnel, and will accordingly plan, schedule, coordinate, and direct their activity. The Chief of Police is also responsible for protecting the lives and property of Township citizens, preventing crime and enforcing all applicable laws and ordinances within the Township’s boundaries.
The successful candidate must have at least 10 years of law enforcement experience including 2 years of law enforcement supervisory experience.

The successful candidate must be MPOETC/Act 120 certified or able to be certified within six (6) months and will be required to live within a 45-minute normal drive of the Township borders. The successful candidate must pass a physical and psychological examination and drug screening. A thorough background examination will be conducted. Salary for the position will be based on experience and qualifications.

PAVING NOTICE
Granville Township has contracted with Grannas Bros. as the lowest bidder on the 2025 Liquid Fuel Paving
Program. Weather permitting, the following roads are scheduled to be paved:
Fri 8/1 Peach Orchard Rd—from SR 4013 a distance of 3450’ approx. 7 am to 5 pm
Mon 8/4 Old Rt 22—Old 522 Hwy a distance of 1250’ East approx. 6:30 am to 1 pm
Horseshoe Dr—from T 664 a distance of 520’ West approx. 10 am to 4 pm
The road will be paved full width, and will be closed during the paving. During this time, access to your home
will be cut off. Please make arrangements to get your vehicle out ahead of time. We are providing
approximate dates and times as a courtesy to assist you in planning, they are not a guarantee. The order listed
is the approximate order in which each street would be done in on each day. Weather and work progress on
other routes affect our schedule. Our normal work hours are 6:30 am to 6 pm.
We are working for, and under the direction of the Township, and we are providing this notice as a courtesy
only. Grannas Bros. will not be responsible for damage to the roadway or your vehicle, based on your inability
